Mistura, the most important gastronomic event in Perú begins

From today until November 5, the International Mistura Fair 2017, considered the most important gastronomic event in Peru and Latin America, will be inaugurated in Club Revolver of Lima district of Rímac.

In its tenth edition will have the presence of 120 participants between food stalls, sweets, carts, drinks and bars.

The inauguration of this year is preceded by controversy, after passing several consecutive years of Costa Verde miraflorina to one of the most insecure districts of the city, Rímac, belonging to the central Cercado de Lima.

In fact, in order to make the visitor aware of going to the popular district of Rímac, organizers wanted to strengthen the image of the neighborhood, to bring the national gastronomy closer to a lower economic sector and to make all Peruvians part of the gastronomic boom the country is experiencing.

Mistura Fair, Gastronomy Mistura

Ministry of Interior launched the hagstag #ConSaborABarrio and announced - for the sake of some critical voices - that more than a hundred police officers will be deployed in the area, who will continuously watch over the safety of the attending public.

It is expected that Mistura receives about 400,000 people, a figure similar to that achieved in 2016.

Social Inclusion in Mistura 2017

A novelty for this year is that El Gran Mercado (Great Market) will offer (besides a great variety of inputs of 330 small agricultural producers of the country), a series of handicrafts of 15 famous artisans of Lima, Amazonas, Cajamarca, Cusco, Junín, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Loreto, Piura and Tumbes.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), all these craft creations are linked to gastronomy and will be presented at stands 040 and 041 of El Gran Mercado.

In Gran Mercado recognized national chefs and international guests will perform gastronomic demonstrations and offer products that cover the entire geography of the country.

There are also concerts in Mistura this year, among which are known local bands such as Bareto, La Patronal, La Mente or Gustavo Ratto.

Mistura 2017 ticket prices

The prices of tickets to Mistura are S / 17 for adults and S / 9 for children, from Monday to Wednesday; and S / 26 for adults and S / 11 for children from Thursday to Sunday.

Access to Mistura Fair

The organizers announced the approval of several entry routes for private vehicles through Alcázar, Pizarro, 9 de Octubre avenues and Tacna Extension, as well as Cajamarca and Marañón streets.

For the exit routes have been traced by the Prolongación Tacna avenue to Palomares and by the jar Cajamarca in the direction of the Maranon street.

So if you are lucky enough to visit the city of Lima during October 27 to November 5, do not miss the traditional colonial neighborhood of Rimac and without a doubt one of the best gastronomic options in the country: Mixture. Bon Appetite!
